Yet another successful event, Menara Kuala Lumpur had once again organized the internationally recognized extreme sport at some renowned towers and buildings in Malaysia for the 9th time, starting from the 4 until 25 October 2009.
This year, new venues and buildings were introduced and the first stop on the list for the KLTIJM 09 tour was held in Kompleks Teruntum, Kuantan, Pahang Darul Makmur and followed by Felda Residence Hotel, Kuala Terengganu; Menara Taming Sari, Malacca; Menara Alor Setar, Kedah; Menara Komtar, Penang and ended at Menara Kuala Lumpur.

More than 90 BASE Jumpers from all over the world participated in this thrilling event from countries such as UK, USA, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Turkey, Canada, Finland, Australia, Russia, India, Indonesia and of course Malaysia. Skills, courage and determination coupled with knowledge of object geometry, landing area and weather conditions propelled these daredevils to make repeated jumps from the Tower with three-second free falls, leaving audience and spectators breathless!
The annual event of Menara Kuala Lumpur is targeting to promote and boost the tourism industry of the chosen states in Malaysia at the same time promoting BASE Jump locally and internationally.
Another excitement that was added on the list this year would be the Night Jump, which was held at 3 towers in Malaysia; Menara Taming Sari, Menara Alor Setar and Menara Kuala Lumpur respectively.
The highlight of the KLTIJM 09 event that was held on the 28 – 29 October 2009, whereby 24 BASE Jumpers continuously jumped at Menara Kuala Lumpur for 24 hours. The drive of the thrilling jumps was attempted to break the Malaysian Book of Records.
